Three remote control sockets and remote - now £5 in the Asda INSTORE Sale.

£5.00

355°

FOUND BY: ibiza 4 months, 1 week ago

These are branded "Status" and unfortunately I could see no pictures to add - so I borrowed the image here from Amazon (whose version costs over two and a half times the price).

Allows you to switch off your tv, vc, dvd player, computer, sky box etc, directly at the mains at the touch of a button. Use it running into a multiblock to switch off your computer, screens, scanner, printer, router, speakers, etc all at once and it will pay for itself pretty soon, and everything after that is a saving, as by switching off your appliances at the mains and not leaving them on standby you are obviously saving energy.

In store only - had originally been reduced to £7 and now down to £5 - and being INSTORE ONLY are not on the website. How long until someone says they cannot see it on the site!!! :-)

So not online - so don't click the "go to deal" link.

Govan Asda had quite a few left in the "sale shelves" near the DVD/CD section at the Ibrox end.

Very cheap...I had these but they stick out so far from the wall and the plug gets heavy on the socket and wobbles so mine are now in the Garage not used. Think about the 6 inches they stick out from the wall before you buy

Don't these require 24/7 mains power in order to receive a power on/off signal? In which case is there much of a saving over modern devices left in a standby mode?

I bought some similar remote control sockets from maplin a while back - they are brilliant for lamps in a room - MOH has lamps everywhere! and instead of having to switch each on individually, i can click one switch and they all come on - brilliant device

I bought some from Asda coventry walsgrave, but they were a 2 pack for £5, branded Masterplug and was 3250 amps... Heard the cheaper ones can be 1000? They had a quad pack but no price and I didn't ask....

Don't worry about it - I plugged an energy monitor in and it doesn't even register when they're 'off'.

They barely use any power but if you're main concern is saving as much energy as possible then switching it off at the wall is what you should be doing

These are more about convenience. They're also great for older people who might struggle to reach a power switch.

I believe all of these are RF (radio frequency) so do not require a line of sight like IR (infra-red) does.

I really want an IR one so I can use it with my Logitech Harmony One universal remote but I just can't seem to find any I have to admit on the whole though that it makes much more sense to have them as RF as plugs are often hidden away behind furniture.

Some of us thinking about energy saving on these item, please note who ever got CRT (old TV) TV and Monitors? It use lots of KW of power and even on standby it is still using 70% power, so calculate the total energy used and how much it cost us a year and very important thing is about carbon emission harming our beautiful Planet Earth.

Don’t worry to use this item, it use very minute quantity of our electricity.

If get it buy it, because it cheap, save energy and convenience.

I had 4 for £10.00 from Lidl long time ago.

One I got dose work from any where in my house, I got my TV and Lamp in ground floor Front sting room and can still switch off from my Computer room on 2nd floor back room.
