Check with Camerabox if these lenses come with European Warranty card other wise you might have a spot of bother getting Nikon to repair under guarantee

I emailed them with the question:
"Do your Nikon brand lenses come with a full Nikon European warranty card?"

and they replied with:
"You receive an invoice with the purchase which works as your warranty with both the manufacturer and Camerabox."

which is about as clear as a Robert Downey Jr. urine test!

I ordered a 55-250 IS Canon lens. I asked the same questions (since there are A grade lens around.) I was told UK stock and Brand new only.

When the lens arrived, the box had been ripped open from one end - and the warrenty card was removed.

I chased up with Canon UK and gave them the serial number and they confirmed the warrenty was fine (ie UK stock and hadnt previously been registered. However, I have my doubts. Im not able to register, though Canon confirmed I would just need to provide a valid receipt. I've kept the emails, just in case.

As it happens, there was a nice touch from this. The guy I was speaking to, gave me a free Canon Battery for my 300D (value £90) as there are reported issues using IS lenses and the one I had was a compatible only. Great stuff from Canon ("gesture of goodwill"), however, I don't believe Camerabox are being too honest here.

Nothing wrong with the lens. Nothing wrong with the price.

Looks from guv's post that Canon are different to Nikon. Good luck.

Part of reply from Nikon Europe to my query to them last week shown below.

"You will need to get the warranty card from the point of sale incase you need to send the lens to us for repair under warranty. All Nikon equipment is supplied with a warranty card in the box that is put there at the factory. If you do not supply a proof of purchase and warranty documents, you will be provided with a cost of the repair before any work is carried out on your camera and you can decide if you would like to have the repair carried out or not."
