Will this be a huge (i.e. worth dropping £100 on) upgrade from a Dual Core X2 6000+ ? Got one in the basket as it is nearly £160 at my local computer shop...but not sure I will get the benefit. Hardly play games; just 3D rendering stuff and photoshop. These are phenom II processors which will pretty much make your PC lag-free, i'm using one at the moment. These are also quad core at 3.0GHz (and phenom II rival intel speeds, whereas X2 6000+ would probably be about 2.3GHz intel speed IIRC) so it definitely would be an upgrade to what you're using at the moment. Whether or not you need the upgrade though, thats for you to decide  |
