Ordered me one as soon as i saw it,

Can see your point but at the end of the day 500watt for sli/xfire? cutting it a bit fine there no? so for most a non issue.

The strange thing is that this particular PSU does not feature on the BFG website at all - not even in the 'Legacy Products' section. There's a GS-450 & GS-550 version, but no GS-500

Would ideally need that extra & dedicated PCI-E connector if it's going to be rated a SLI/CF PSU, & I had initially voted it hot on this basis.

500W is fine for a mid-range SLI setup. Even a Core i7 system with GTX 285 SLI will pull only about 460W DC. For that I’d want 700W to be on the safe side; decent brand of course.

I'm fairly sure my Seasonic S12 II 500W is SLI certified not that I've used it for that. It would easily handle dual HD 4850 with my E8400 @ 3.6GHz.

most decent single cards like the 4870 and 4890 need two dedicated pci-e connectors. now most cards come with the a molex to pci e etc, issue here is to make sure its a two molex to pci-e, as some molex do not provide enough juice and can burn the cable out etc, hence i would of kept it if it did indeed come as advertised, as i didnt want to go the molex to pci-e route.

i personally would go for the ocz 600 watt at 12 quid more at ebuyer.
