I have been quoted over £160 to have my carpets cleaned professionally. Or over £25 if I were to hire a carpet cleaner for a couple of days. How could this be a cold deal?

Not sure but have seen this quite often over last 12 months at prices ranging from £49-£65. I thought the same as you but about 90% of reviews I have read said it was pretty useless on anything except the lightest of dirt or stains and also that it left the carpet pretty damp afterwards.
