Am I right, it's this one on Crucial's website ... would cost £41.38? If so, very hot.

No they are not. They are for 2x 1Gb stick the other poster is talking about 2 x 2Gb sticks.

But I seriously doubt they would be PC 8500 at that price.

The £13 extra is huge "bang for buck" with an extra 2gb especially with vista.

Even with the 32bit limitation 3.*gb is far better than 2gb.

No disresepct but a lot of people rate crucial also read computer active and "know about computers" , its decent memory but the likes of corsair, kingston ocz etc offer better prices these days.

Their lifetime warranty isn't all that either.

I made a claim a while back when a stick of ddr500 balitix died on me, they replaced it with cheap bog standard ddr400. I called customer services and they said they don't do ddr500 anymore, but they still didn't bother compensating me in any way whatsoever

I bought 4gb of this stuff recently (actually the Tracer variant) and it is amazing.

This is a serious bargain.

just installed these....really fast...vista now works like a dream compared to 1gig....also of note is that they are SLI...so if youve got a mobo that supports SLI memory it will automatically overclock them

I got 2x2gb of the DDR2-800 Crucial Ballistix for £35 from ebuyer, clocks well past 1066mhz at the standard voltage and timings (did 1200mhz on stock 2.0v at 5-5-5-15 (as 4x2gb modules in 2t)

More is better than speed most of the time it has to be said, and the timings make a difference but not as much as it used to in the DDR BH-5 days
