Sony DSC-HX1 £294.99 + del @ Camerabox

I know its a similar price at simply electronics & crazycameras but the reviews for camerabox weren't quite as bad as the others.

I'll bet the camera doesn't arrive with the warranty card inside the box.

I'd check with Sony if thats the case. (Camerabox often supply grey imports.)

I've bought a grey import from them.

Used camerabox a few times, like mentioned above I have been supplied with greys (both US models in my case). Warranty for cameras/portable items is pretty much worldwide no?

Is there a noticable difference in import models? This model has an hdmi slot so I'm expecting to be able to plug it straight into the telly, so if its a US model would that be ntsc?. As long as it works the same & the warranty is kosher I'll be happy with the money I've saved.

I have also bought from Camerabox in the past.

My purchase was a Nikon lens which did not have an European Warranty Card in the box. Nikon will not repair under warranty without this. So guarantee is not international with all manufacturers.

Camerabox do sell grey imports by all accounts and their website is somewhat grey as well with regards to guarantee. How can the website say first 12 months guarantee is with the manufacturer. Have they got a special deal with them?

For anyone still viewing this thread in the hope of saying "Told you so", the camera has not arrived yet & after hanging on the phone for 30 mins to camerabox I got fobbed off with being told I should get it thursday.
Why am I beginning to doubt I will ever see thiis camera?

did you ever end up receiving your camera?????? Camerabox reviews are not good at all.
