Hey guys, anyone know if this is as good as the NC10. My old man brought a Medion and then took it back pretty quick when he saw my NC10. Now he wants one, but there aren't any good deals around at the mo, so I wondered if this would do him. He was particulary struck on the metal hinges rather than plastic. Any comments on the build quality?

Cheers all

I could never justify spending £299.99 on a netbook. Madness. But considering its price elsewhere I suppose this qualifies as hot for anyone stupid enough to buy it.

The NC10 is a complete rip off, it is no different to any other netbook except for the battery.

I was quite pleased with mine. Got it for £250 and upgraded the RAM to 2gb, runs like a dream.

You're a bit out on a limb there. Almost every group test and serious analysis has put the NC10 in top place in comparison with other 1st/2nd generation net-books.

This benchmarks better than any other, and has an excellent keyboard.

I've used 25 NC10's in the last week at work setting them up for the last two weeks they are nothing special at all and no different to any other netbook, especially if you take the price into comparison.

Yeah but this Asus isn't a 1st/2nd generation netbook

Rubbish track pad though - can't believe that on that alone it a) got so universally popular or b) wasn't killed dead by the NC110 (which fixes the trackpad per PC-pro). I can see both points - don't think I'd pay £300 for a netbook, but then looking back, £237.50 for my beloved netbook seems a lot. And I am maybe about to spend another £100 on an SSD for it!
