You've been lucky. I have spent 9 months trying to get a refund for a returned faulty item. They stop communicating when you eventually try and demand your refund.

Anyway Sloaman I have searched for the item from the UK and found it in Argos for just £5.69 though you need to search to find and reserve em.

Never had any trouble with them. My rules for Dealextreme purchases:

* Always read the reviews on the site first to see if the product is reliable
* Never spend over £15
* Don't expect the item to turn up within 2 weeks
* Always expect the item to be a pile of cr*p

I've bought an in-car FM transmitter for £8 recently, cheap and tacky but does the job perfectly. Also bought the torch that was posted on HUKD a week or so ago, and is an absolute bargain for £13, excellent quality. Both items would have cost over 3x as much if bought from this country. If they had turned out to be cr*p I woudn't have bothered with the hassle of trying to send them back to Hong Kong...

Also the Argos item is slightly different, but it looks like they both do the same thing (no details on Argos re: games).

I had a faulty Media Player case from them, I photographed it, emailed it to them, I was impressed, they just sent me a new one, did not want the old one returned, but new one had a faulty power supply. So thought I would use the power supply cable from the 1st one, that was also faulty sounds like a bag of nails running.
Gave up, never trust anything with a mains power supply from them, it could be very dangerous.
They are OK for a few small things as long as you can risk losing your money,

Persistence works with DealExtreme.
They didn't deliver me £15 worth of batteries with my large order and it took me about 6-9 months of constantly posting on their online customer service ticket system. They closed tickets, told me to use a different system, just left open tickets unanswered.
In the end I threatened them quoting the distance selling act and although i'm not sure it applies to overseas traders it worked and I was refunded.
To be fair I have had better luck with my other orders (total 5 or so). I recommend keeping orders small.
Best of luck.
