I have this cleaner - £90 at Currys a few months ago. It is usually around £130-150 so this is a decent reduction.

It is the best cleaner we have had. Really solid and well-made, suction is fantastic. Better than our old Dyson. Also, when you ring to register the warranty you can get the 2 year warranty extended to 10 years for £30. A few weeks after a free pack of bags arrived in the post too.

We had given up on expensive cleaners but after having an Argos Samsung (£60, supposedly half-price) that was pretty poor and was sent away for weeks to be fixed, we decided to follow a friends recommendation and get a Miele. I guess the real test will be how long it lasts, but so far we are impressed with it.

Yes this is the one without Turbo Brush; I have a Cat & Dog Miele with Turbo Brush; not worth the hassle constantly gets clogged up with hair

Miele was on WHICH magazine reviews a while back and was given a higher review than the Dyson...which is what I use but now want a Miele however the only downside I see is the use of dustbags which over the past few years I had not done with the Dyson...

There is no comparison to a Dyson ! This Miele will still be working in 10 years time. The Dyson will be in the local tip with all the hundreds of other Dysons that are down there.
I have Miele vacuum cleaner for the garage and Miele washing machine and Dishwasher in the house and had no problem with them and they all get well used and are over 10 years old now.

We have one of these and TBH although the build is very good they work OK but not great.

The suction makes the head "stick" to the carpet so they are hard work (DON'T buy if you have a weak back) BUT the lack of a beater bar means they don't pick up pet hair or threads too well.

Quite small (expensive) bags too.

Just a note of warning - I bought a Miele brand new from Comet and within 2 years you couldn't get the replacement bags anywhere not even Miele direct.

My Dyson has been going strong for 4 years. Fantastic hoover. And they also come with 5 year warranties as standard now. The newer models are better too, maybe earlier on they had problems with reliability.

I've never used a Miele, but have always been put off by the size and the cost of the bags. Make sure you factor the cost of bags over 10 years into the overall cost. The Dyson is a big money saver during things like building work going inside the home, as there's a ton of dust and rubble that it will pick up without costing you a penny in bags.

Worth thinking about.
