I'm a bit sceptical about points offers from now on since tesco started giving 2 points per pound, I think it's a devaluing exercise and deals will increase in cost.
My theory is the 1 green point per bag and clubcard plus (and any other points increasing scheme) is costing them too much. If they withdraw the green points it will look bad environmentally, if they close the clubcard plus scheme to existing members they will lose a chunk of cashflow. So what to do??
They start to offer 2 points for every pound and double the 'cost' of deals, this gives them an instant 50% saving of the cost of green points and probably a saving on Clubcard plus too (although I haven't heard what they are doing with CCP points).
