RAC CAR INSURANCE + £70 QUIDCO + RAC BREAKDOWN + £20 QUIDCO + £30 cashback

26°

FOUND BY: actress 3 months, 18 hours ago

some of the elements here have already been posted, however if you use them smartly enough extra savings can be made. The quidco deal only applies to new customers.

Here's the deal, first purchase RAC breakdown cover minimum £28 and recieve £20 quidco, so breakdown only costs £8.
After 5 days (don't know why 5 days) the RAC website recognises your membership number.
Next apply for your car insurance and get free upgrade to RAC plus because you are now an RAC member, also get £70 quidco.
The icing on the cake is that the RAC are also currently offering a further £30 cashback ontop of all this.
Only thing I think I should add is that once your policy starts they ask you to send proof of any no claims.

sounds good, you sure you'll get 70 quidco though, thought you had to be a new customer?

The RAC have always been horrendously expensive for car insurance for me. I can beat their prices and get breakdown cover thrown in with the insurance.

I dont trust these complicated deals that rely on Quidco to make it a deal. If it goes pear shaped you've already spent money on something that you could get cheaper elsewhere.

The RAC were about £20 more expensive than my best quote (Citroen picasso 2001) however the £100 cahback more than compensated for it. Plus the free upgrade to RAC plus was about £20 extra for non RAC members.
The deal won't work for some but it will definitely work for others.
Both my RAC offers tracked in quidco OK.

My surprise was that I didn't even know anything about the £30 cashback until a letter arrived from the RAC telling me I would be recieving it in 30 days.

When you go via the quidco link, the page doesn't tell you that you get a further £30 back. Although it is promulgated on the normal homepage.

Sorry but cold from me.

Deals that are deals only due to Quidco are frowned upon - with good reason, it isnt guaranteed.

Moreover, its highly unlikely, even if Quidco tracks, that the insurance will be cheapest with RAC.

When you say apply for car insurance, would I have to take it in order to get the £70 quidco?

Do you have to pay for the insurance annually to get the cashback?

i just got the RAC breakdown cover basic one for £28 since thought it was cheap anyway from £43! and £20 quidco was a bonus-only applied online a few hours ago and it has tracked on quidco £20 already which says i will get in January. Will be a bargain if i get the £20! i got £25-28 with o2 on quidco when i ordered a £50 pay as u go phone a few months ago so hopefully RAC work.
