Fun presents for a 3 year old boy

POSTED BY: Babbabooey 6 months, 3 weeks ago

My lad is turning 3 in October, and I'm after some present ideas....

I would like ideas for inexpensive presents, as we already have his 'main' gift sorted out, so that he will have a number of things to open on the day..

Any good recommendations? We've got him some clothes already so no need to recommend that.

Thanks all.

No, I don't have a child, i'm just pretend to have one for the purpose of this thread

Lego is actually a really good idea, except that as we haven't got any yet it is really expensive in the beginning to get the sets. Definitely going to invest at some point though.

My son is 4 and loves playmobil, lego and his thomas trains. He has other toys but these are his favourite. He loves to sit and draw/colour too and those sort of things are cheap xx

For my daughters last birthday (ages 5) she got a wii, and all the stuff for it, loads of games etc, a DS, games for that and playmobil. Spent a bloomin fortune yet the thing she was excited most about was a silly High School Musical diary from poundland

Totally couldnt believe it! Never again

Just get loads of little things from places like poundland, paints, art things etc xxx

He's a typical 2 year old - into all sorts.. toy cars, animals and the like. He's not got any action figures yet, unless you can call the Jakers figures 'action' lol.... I got him a Bumblebee transformer but it's bloody impossible to transform, even us adults cant figure it out.

He also likes colouring, so will be getting him more pens and stuff.

If he likes colouring, see how inventive he can get with childrens paints. Make giant paintings in the garden from rolls of wallpaper or lining paper x Buy some ai hardening clay and see if he can mould. Mash potato is fun too.. they can make all kinds of gooey mess with it, or cookie dough.

Toy cars is easy.. get a garage.. car wash.. the lil people. or playmobile sets and then build on them each week or so. An animal zoo maybe? ELC has those plastic animals and you can mix zoo animals with dinosaurs and farm friends.

Leg is fantastic for construction, so are wooden blocks etc.

My three yr olds fav toys are things like his garden slide, playhouse, swing etc, he loves wild adventure play, have you got any garden toys yet? x

My little boy is turning 3 in September, and in much the same predicament, got him a scooter, Remy from Ratatouille, and the DVD, he is obsessed with it and his first copy got knackered. Just don't want to go OTT as he has so many toys already (he has a room full literally) and he has a lot of people who buy for him, but don't want to seem tight!
