EXPIRED - Wickes 204 piece accessory set - drills/screw bits, etc £5

£5.00

296°

FOUND BY: nidgesy 2 months, 3 weeks ago

204 piece accessory set in double folding blow molded case. Contains drill bits (flat/wood/masonry + long ones /jobber) hole saw, driver bits (slotted, posi, phillips, torx) + holder, nail punches, depth stops, sockets, etc.

Note this kit comes with a 18V Combi Hammer Drill (in separate case) - but NO battery or charger. I believe these would cost an additional £50+. If anyone knows of a low cost compatible charger & battery, please post detail before I sling the drill (which would be a shame)

This is clearance stock (boxes had a sticker on them saying "delete"), so limited in store availability- was 5 boxes at the checkout. Same price showing on web site (out of stock) as store, so no reason to expect this is store specific - would guess it's nationwide.

These are obviously not top quality (but there are worse drills) - before the usual comments are made - but what do you want for a fiver - will suffice for the odd dit jobs.

Picture of accessory kit not available - web link is to the drill (which includes the kit).

They were supposed to throw them away, but some clever suit thought why shall we throw them away, it will cost us money to pay someone to dispose of the drills that have no batteries....

So I bet he was like... and then thought ahh lets charge people to take these away, some muppet will pay.... we will give them the free bits with it to keep em happy

The battery is exactly the same as the ones that come with Worx 18v drills. In fact the drill may be the same also. Admittedly not a great help, but anyone who buys this kit should keep a look out in Homebase and Argos for cheap Worx items.
If you've got a Worx 18v power tool then it's worth trying to find the bendy (blue I think) 18v torches in Wickes since they will take the Worx batteries. The torches were being sold off for about £2.50.

Its standard practice to sell drills and other tools "bare" without a battery in the trade.

The idea is that you buy a "range" of different power tools from the same manufacturer and you only pay for the battery and charger once.

That way the individual tools work out cheaper and you have a couple of comon batteries that you swap between them.

If you look on trade web sites (and places like screwfix) you can see the same drills sold with and without batteries, depending on which you want....

Never buy this. All the drill bits bent within seconds...

And I wasn't drilling into rock or anything.

I'd never go for a wickes set - tried a second time and the same thing. Gave up and bought Bouche.

All of them? Within seconds? Boy, you've been busy!

Did you attend the Jeremy Clarkson school of extreme exaggeration?

Did you contact Wickes? I wonder how they would respond!

4 in one, 3 in the other, yes. Your picking out of the term "all" is quite immature!
