Hi all,

House of Fraser have reduced Russell Hobbs steam generator iron to £47.99. Next cheapest I can find is about £70 mark. You can get one for about £36 but thats a refurb...

5% Quidco on this as well :)

£4 P+P on top, or use a filler item to take it over £50 - hand towel at £2.40 for example: http://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/null+Egyptian+Towels+in+Teal/LINTWL_TEL,default,pd.html?cgid=S500

The Russell Hobbs 14125 Steam Generator with a white and blue finish. Features include:

* 1800W power output
* 1 litre water tank capacity
* 40g/min continious steam output
* Vertical steam
* Comapct and easy store design
* Soft-grip handle
* Easy cleaning

It always worries me when a product is so widely available as a refurb! Either a large proportion of customers simply don't like them and return them, or there is a design issue?
Hot for price, though

Cheers zygo!

Know what you mean - the only thing I can say is that I have personally had this one for about 18 months, and had no issues at all.

I think its only because its tended to be one of the biggest selling generators, due to its relatively low price point - thus not neccessaruly a high PERCENTAGE of returns.

Oops - nearly forgot - 5% Quidco!

http://www.quidco.com/house-of-fraser/

If paid, would bring it down to £45.60

What makes them better than a regular iron?

Russel Hobbs steam generators have a tendency to break down after about a year. Google it, it's a common fault. Other brands of steam generators Tefal, Morphy Richards seem a bit more reliable from my experience. I wouldn't but any Russel Hobbs.

Mascherano, steam generating irons produce way more steam which makes it much faster and easier to iron. Iron is a chore at the best of times and if you can make it easier / faster then imo it's a good thing !

Voted hot as this is a big reduction in price.

But after researching it a bit you can get a "normal" iron for the same price that's got a higher power output and the same steam rating. I think I'll be going for one of them.

In response to your question Mascherano, i find them better because i can do my ironing in half the time and i dont have to fiddle around filling up the reservoir every time i iron, i just fill it to capacity every week or so. Also i can steam things on the hanger to get rid of creases from storage. All in all an extremely good iron, blimey i reckon Tefal should employ me for all the good press im giving them lol.
