Was looking for a cheaper mobile phone for a beginner. I know this wont be hot, but just thought of bringing this up!

I've got the Alcatel. Simple phone for calls and SMS, nothing else. Very long battery life and keys and screen are well protected. It's also "unlocked", so you can use it for any network.
