Is Rathbones not Morrisons attempt at rebadging their own brand bread? Not that there is anything wrong with the bread - perfectly acceptable esp at this price!

I had to check my statement was correct:

Morrisons own Rathbone Kear bakeries, who make all Morrisons own brand bread and morning goods and the 'unknown' brand name bread you see on offer from time to time in Morrisons. It's part of the 'vertical integration' that Morrisons use.

Rathbones have been around a while longer though, haven't they?

At one point I was pretty sure they were white-label baking a nice white loaf for asda, it was wrapped in wax paper style stuff, I think they were referring to it as a "Big loaf", despite it being a standard 800g one.

Anyone know if morrisons bought the existing company out? Or is my memory playing tricks on me?

Rathbones is the worst 'branded' bread on the market, near enough. It's worth about 25p a loaf max

I saw this today, however every loaf had a best before date of 3rd September, so left it.

Morrison's had lots of good offers, amour yoghurts 63p each or 3 for £1, Bertoli olive oil £2.88 for a litre bottle, works out as cheap a buying 2 of the Aldi one almost. Muller corners, 25p. New Covent garden soups £1,

Bought this twice in the past few weeks for my sandwiches for work and found that I really feel really hungry around 4pm for some reason, usually take 2 rounds but even with 3 rounds I still feel hungry later on!

Not bad bread but you need to eat the whole loaf for dinner!!

This bread is awful! Its very light with air bubbles in it and blows your tummy up....cheap crap basically!!

Like someone said above...Warburtons is worth every penny if you must have bread...I only have Warburtons WM but buy the little loaves at 59p as only me eats it and lasts a good 3-4 days.

To clear up the Rathbones/Morrisons link. Rathbones used to supply Morrisons with their own brand bread, alongside their main stream loaf, much like the other bakeries do.

When Rathbones went into administration, Morrisons thought that buying them out was the better option than having to change supplier.
