Got only 1gb ram, you'd need to buy at least 1gb better 2gb additional ram for prob. £20. It is a very good laptop specially if you want to watch HD movies on your tv, it's got a HDMI out, also Lightscribe DVD. I bought mine from Comet for £319 with 3gb ram and it was new with a one year warranty. Highly recommended laptop. I'm not so keen on refurbs. Had a lot of bad experience with them from Currys. Not sure how to vote at the mo.

Just noticed this one has got only 120gb HDD. Mine has 160gb HDD, so I think it's better to buy a new one in Comet because, after all price works out the same with the extras (you could just put Windows XP on with 1gb ram but I think there will be problems with some drivers)

Not dual core, or even intel, its AMD, but my parents are not bothered about speed or stuff like that, (they have a desktop), basicly all my mother wants is to be able to connect to Facebook! And play games on MSN. (I got her a Nintendo DS last year but she does not like it, after a year of asking!) Its her birthday soon so i am looking for something cheap that can do basic stuff, also it has a card reader so i can load piccies of the kids straight onto it for her!

Dont like the way Laptops Direct have started charging to have a 1 year warranty for their refurbs. I wonder how this affects your statutary rights? Would have been an ok price if a decent warranty was included.
