On the look out for some more storage. Had 2 USB external HD's before though. First was a Toshiba that knackered up a week before the warranty ran out. Took it back and swapped it for a Western Digital MyBook which I have had for 2 1/2 years but is now playing up also.

Keeps locking up and stalling so I have to take power out the back and plug back in again. Am afraid I will lose all photos / mp3's etc so unsure if to get another one or go for an internal 1TB HD.

Hot for the price though. Not hear much about LaCie - any good?

Generally I really like LaCie, so personally - if I was looking for the storage - I'd buy this, bargain.

All depends on the drive inside imo, although all hard drives have a failure rate, some brands more than others, though usually they'll all last around the same time, if you don't get a bad one.

iirc lacie drives use hitachi drives.
