EXPIRED - MSI to knock 55% off for New P55 Board Launch £63 @ Hexus

£63.00

578°

FOUND BY: Mik3yB 2 months, 3 weeks ago

STARTS: 08/09/2009

Taken from the Hexus news site -

"Now that we know Intel will be launching its Lynnfield-based LGA 1156 processors on September 8th, MSI has revealed that it will run a limited promotion on its supporting P55-GD65 and P55-GD80 motherboards.

Come launch day, MSI will be knocking a massive 55 per cent off the asking price of its two range-topping boards. Consequently, the P55-GD65, with a suggested retail price of £139.99, will be made available for as little as £63! The top-end P55-GD80, meanwhile, would normally fetch £189 and could be yours during the promotion for just £85.50.

Sounds like a cracking deal, and MSI tells us it will offer the promotional prices on a limited quantity of stock - meaning the offer could last only hours. The promotion will run at SCAN*, Ebuyer, CCL and Overclockers, and we're told purchases will be limited to one board per customer."

##########################################

Novatech to offer same promotion on Weds 9th Sept 2pm!

Keep checking the price of these two items (to drop) around 2pm Weds at Novatech...

Shame it's MSI rather than Gigabyte or Asus. Still hot though.

Great deal. I have ran MSI boards with no problems and a great live bios update tool.

Just as I've gone and bought a B-grade gigabyte board for the same price and an AMD chip!

Hot deal!

Good price and very tempting buy I am sick of intel changing the scoket or the chipset specification every 3 or 4 months with another change touted for October, but I am very tempted by these boards, great deal!

How much are the processors for these boards? The gear I've bought arrived today and is unopened, tempted to send it back and get this instead!

Hot!

If only for the hilarity of watching the geeky humourless lad quiz the MSI guy.

if the processors are priced right then this could be a cracking deal if a board and processor comes in about £220

From Hexus.net "The upcoming parts - a 2.66GHz Core i5 750, a 2.80GHz Core i7 860 and a 2.93GHz Core i7 870 - are all packaged as Socket LGA 1156, and they'll launch in unison with Intel's new P55 chipset.

What's interesting is that UK-based retailer Lambda-Tek.com is already listing all three parts, with mention of pricing, too. LambdaTek has the mainstream Core i5 750 priced at £153.79, and the Core i7 860 and Core i7 870 priced at £233.21 and £728.96, respectively."
