It isn't just the psu in isolation; how much are your other components drawing?

Get a new PSU would be my advice.

Cheapest 4870 512MB is £85 @ OCUK unless you know of a cheaper one? Not sure about the 1GB.

Buy a decent 600w PSU and when you sell your PC You can remove it and put it in your next PC,That way you should never have to buy anothe rand your PC will be quieter and there will be a lot less chance of frying your HDD with all your data on,

ATI recommend a 500 Watt or greater power supply with two 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connectors. Yours is not really close enough - its supposedly 450W but only 240W on the 12V rail which nearly all the current is drawn from these days. It looks like it might not be an ATX size power supply though - so you may struggle to find a suitable PSU for the case you have. Also the card will dissipate a lot of heat and if its a very small, compact case it may cause overheating problems...

Biggest & most common mistake people make building PC's is putting in a crap PSU. Do you really want to risk a crappy PSU from eBay taking out all those expensive components?

I wouldn't personally consider anything less than an Antec or equivalent.

PSU's aren't the sort of thing that you want to go cost cutting on TBH, I can appreciate budgets but by buying a decent PSU for a bit extra gives you piece of mind that it's very unlikely to take out your whole system.

Wattage is never an indication of how a PSU will perform; looking at how many amps it has on the 12V rail is an indicator though.
