whatsThePoint:
£583 for original spec is a joke surely

Yet another good example of Dells lets make up a silly price then lower it in a sell scam
But i must admit it appears to work as people on here always fall for it
So maybe i shouldn't be laughing at dell but at someone else
So you are saying that you can get a laptop spec'd like this:

Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 2.1 GHz Vista Home Premium 15.6" Widescreen WXGA WLED (1366 x 768) TFT 4096MB 250GB Integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD DVD Writer £584
£399

For less than £399 ?

Yeh, I guess it's a matter of weighing up what you want - but it's still classed by Intel as in a completely quicker category (the T4X00 to T6X00) :-)

I'm still waiting for you to either retract your post, or find a better deal for that spec laptop with Vista Home Premium!

Thanks for the effort, hot from me! But dont be so defensive about your post! Dell had the same laptop last week the one you say has a rrp of RRP £572 and included the colour upgrade for the same price. Also it had a webcam. Dell do think people are stupid like Argos do. I think its a good deal, but there has been better in near past even if there isnt now

Give an example where someone would benefit and the time saved?

True on some, but on others there are massive savings to be had. I guess if someone wants a cheapo laptop, this isn't the post for them. If someone wants one with a bit of lastativity at a good price, from a reputable company, this may be a good thread for them :-)

Cheers anyway

Ermm they're faster, are you looking for benchmarks? Google it. The point is, if someone is going to use these laptops for video processing etc, a slight increase may actually be of benefit.

So just to clarify you don't think its worth the RRP
I'm sure that means you agree with me
