From 9th September until 15th September, the price of the Toshiba Satellite L300-1FS 15.4 Inch 160GB Laptop will drop from £399 to £299.

Plus free delivery on orders over £50

Product overview
Toshiba's Satellite L300-1FS is a great mid-point between price and performance. The laptop still delivers a range of features normally only found on higher end models, and offers respectable computing power. With a large, high resolution 15.4in widescreen (1280x800), this portable laptop has Toshiba's TruBrite technology for enhanced viewing.

The pacy Intel Dual Core, 2.16GHz chip keeps computing quick, while the 2GB of memory is enough for most computing tasks such as web browsing, document and spreadsheet creation, and playing multimedia. The 160GB hard drive gives you enough space for all your programs, and leaves plenty of extra space extra for media if you want to watch movies during your commute.

The laptop also features a full range of extras, such as WiFi and LAN to connect to networks or the internet, a VGA port for an external monitor, microphone and headphone jacks. Great for travel it also has an internal modem so you can connect to the internet through a phone line - ideal for access to email in regions with no broadband or WiFi. Also has a useful number of USB ports (three).

Integrated speakers let you watch movies, or listen to music on the go, while the integrated webcam and microphone let you chat online or video conference without needing a headset.

Another bonus is the DVD-RW drive, that also works on DVD double-layer discs, so you can back up huge amounts of data (about 8GB) to one disc.

Comes with Windows Vista Home Basic installed, and a one year guarantee applies.

an alleged £399 laptop with Vista basic...hmm me thinks its worth just £299 anyway. If I were to spend £400 on a laptop id expect Vista Premium, 3Gb RAM and a 250Gb hard drive.

You sure it is the same one. The one in this offer has a Pentium Dual Core T3400

I was in Sainsburys today and they had a Toshiba laptop on offer from £399 to £299.

But that model was the Toshiba L300 20W, details below (still not that great a spec)

I love how people seem to expect the world for peanuts. This is a great deal IMO. Point us in the direction of a comparable laptop in this price range if there is one.

Voted HOT!!

A fast dual core laptop. I am still going to hang on until Windows 7 comes as standard in October. Then the price of the software will become absorbed into the laptop price. I am running it at present in the trial software until June 2010. It is what Vista should have been. I would never go back to vista. It actually slowed down my PC considerably. A great deal if you need a laptop now, but if you wait you may find far better in the next couple of months.

Actually the Toshiba web site says it has Vista Home Premium on it.

http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.c...ibaShop/false/

Quite a few sites have "Vista Home Basic" in the headline, but "Vista Home Premium" in the description, like this site (also Amazon)

http://www.pricerunner.co.uk/pi/27-1...c-Product-Info

I would trust the Toshiba site.
