Rock Band 2 (Solus)

Rock Band 2 delivers the most authentic and ambitious music game to date - by challenging rockers to master lead guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals with a polished, streamlined, and amazingly fun and challenging experience. Rock Band 2 features a tracklist that puts all other music games to shame with more than 100 on-disc and free downloadable tracks from some of the most hallowed bands of the rock pantheon.

Rock Band 2 ships with the biggest selection of epic rock songs of any music game to date - and every song is a master recording! It will also work with the hundreds of downloadable songs already available online. The tracklist includes songs from System of a Down, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cheap Trick, Journey, Elvis Costello, The Who, and many, many more!

Requires a drum, microphone or guitar controller to play

Rock Band instruments sold separately

The best band game on the market just got better thanks to a slate of innovative features from Harmonix, the preeminent music game studio! Take your band on an online-enabled World Tour mode, record albums, tackle the addictive Set Challenges, or even compete against other bands, either in your living room or halfway across the world, in the Battle Of The Bands mode... plus all of the modes you know and love from the first Rock Band game!

Innovative hardware updates! Rock Band 2 will ship with 2nd generation hardware: more durable, wireless drums with an expansion port to support cymbal pads and improved wireless Fender Stratocaster guitars - with multiple colours - that will let you rock harder and longer then ever before.

Rock Never Dies! Compatible with all past and future downloadable content - even tracks you downloaded for Rock Band back in 2007 - so you can play a never-ending, face-melting set.

Learn to play drums! Rock Band 2 pushes music simulation farther than it's ever gone with a tool that actually teaches you how to play the drums in real-life - or you can just have fun jamming and playing along to songs like an animal in the Freestyle Drum mode.

Just so people know if you have or rent/buy rock band 1 you can pay a small charge £3.00< and export the codes to your hard drive to use in rock band 2. Also on the psn all DC songs + export code can be gameshared.

@Finlab As far as I know, Lips microphones should work. I just know that they don't work with RB1, but have read online that an update for RB2 ame out that brings support. GH guitars work no problem!

The export code can be bought on xbox live and in the game options in rb 1 there is an option to export songs. If your question is regarding the gameshare of nearly all dlc (games, songs and otherwise) between up to five people that is ps3 exclusive.

That's a good point, makes it all the more tempting. Would be a very cheap way to massively increase the playlist for my Guitar Hero controller. Shame my friend with Rock Band lives 130 miles away...

Sorry to be dense but may I ask a question?

I have a PS3, recently bought RB2 and the instrument kit, having a ball! How can I get the RB1 songs? Is there a cheaper way than buying the RB1 game?

Thanks.

OK, if I rent it. How do I then get to keep the tracks? In this RB2 kit I got, there was a code on the back of the manual. Is that what I am looking for if I rent it?

No one reads my posts

The export code can be bought on xbox live or psn and in the game options in rb 1 there is an option to export songs. These songs are saved to your hard drive and now can be used in other rock band games.
