"Taken" DVD, with Liam Neeson - a bargain - just a fiver at Asda

£5.00

383°

Taken - the extended "harder cut"

Good little film, plenty of violence and very entertaining in my opinion.

Very cheap considering it's more or less double the price elsewhere.

Hmmm - I use DVDpricecheck.com - they seem to be useless.

They have Taken at Play.com coming up at £13

On the Play site itself however it's only £4.99, plus a bit of quidco, so I guess it ain't the wass, huge deal of the century I thought it was.

Never mind.

Hot, as nice price for a good film, but I stopped getting DVDs a few years ago.

Buying DVDs now is a bit like getting VHS tapes 10in 8-9years ago, come this christmas I expect HiDef media and TVs to tumble. Also CEX second hand bluray prices rival new dvd prices if not better.

(b) i'm not going to buy another TV until this one dies.

(c) DVD's are here to stay for a few years yet i reckon

(d) for the price of a burger meal i'm happy enough.

scrumpypaul, i imagine lots of people not in a rush to buy a pricey tv in a recession, i don't blame them, but admitedly I'm a bit of a fanboy having had one now for 3 and half years. Bluray won't ever match the colossal sales DVDs had, not with broadband and FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet allowing for 100-200mbit VDSL2+) to homes on the horizon spoiling media sales with online streaming/preloading etc.

Just my geeky tupence

Unfortunately for you, no, but maybe that's fortunate for the rest of us. It's like an Arnie or JCVD film, love it for what it is. Not all films have to be deep and meaningful, each to their own.
