Ummm..sounds like a lot of money but i guess it does cover a lot of things...i'd have to sit down and work out the maths of it all to see if there are savings to be made.

It'll be interesting to see if others think this is value for money or not .

When you can get TalkTalk Broadband and all landline calls for £9.99 per month and if you had the top Sky package and a decent mobile package from those here on HUKD you'd get a lot of change from £125 per month imo so I don't think this is a good deal at all (unless I'm missing something?) - sorry

I signed up for this package yeterday for £85 a month.

Seemes to be the same with the exception of the mobile.

Maybe I'm missing something.

I now have more channels than I know what to do with.

Yeah i'm with TalkTalk - i don't really know why they get so much bad press - they have never given me any problems (although it took them 2 months to set up initially) and they are EXCELLENT value for money. I think i will stick with them and i think i can live without sky.

Good point but is Talk Talk actually worth £9.99 per month? I have my doubts, I currently pay a fair bit for my Broadband and phone with Nildram but since i work from home I think £25.99 is a (relatively) good deal for an almost flawless service.

Can you get HD TV channels with Virgin now?

Thats cool, obviously if it not a good deal then sorry about that. I does seem to include alot though. Also you dont have to pay extra for the Virgin+ box, sky box is £300 and the virgin box is HD ready with no extra subscription, also the virgin box will record 2 programme and you can watch a third.

I am also not convinced with the Talk Talk service as it has had constant bad press on watchdog and various other programmes.

This may not work out to be that great, but I dont think Branson will give up easily.

not sure about the £125 package (altho it does seem very good) but i might just go for the 4 for £40 package... i currently pay £40 for landline and BB so to get TV and mobile thrown in... can't be bad!

The Virgin + box is a rebadged Telewest TVdrive. Although its capable of a HD service, there will be limited content at the moment. BBCHD and some VOD HD content.

I built my own HTPC PVR with HDMI output, so can access BBCHD over freeview for free. I have VOIP router linked up to my home phone so don't pay any line rental except for broadband, and am on a cashback deal on my mobile which over the year means I have paid nothing!

So £125 a month for this? Or will I stick to £14.99 Im currently paying? Hmmmm

Just been on the phone to virgin and found out a few things....
I'm not after the all singing all dancing VIP packages (£85 & £125), but would be interested in TV & Broadband.
The virgin website mentions High Def TV, but nothing about extra costs.
If I were to go for the 2 for £20 package (TV & BB) I would get standard def TV (standard cable box, not the V+) and upto 2MB BB. Not looking so attractive now. Add onto that £25 install fee. Looking worse.
Now if I want High Def I would need the V+ box which they charge £15 per month for. OK, so Sky charge £299 for their High Def box (which you then own and not rent) + £10 per month.

All in all, when you start to look at the services and costs it becomes very clear that virgin are not offering any real value over it's competitors. Therefore the deal gets a big thumbs down from me.

Oh, and in case you didn't know, virgin media are in fact NTL / Telewest under a new name. New name, probably same shockingly bad service that made me switch from NTL to Sky in the first place!!!!

Mobile (O2) - 500 mins & 900 SMS - £25 per month
Home Phone - £11 per month
Broadband - £22 per month
Full Sky package - £42.50 per month

Total: £100.50

So I'd be £25 worse off if I went with them !!!
