Recently purchased this laptop and quite happy with it as it seems to be a good value for the money. Posting it following advise by 'jimmyblue'.

Nothing special for the price and 3 or 4gb looks to be getting the norm nowadays

Personally i'd get this Toshiba for better quality, support and save a £10

you also get windows 7 and not everyone wants/knows how to tweak vista

I'm no friend of Acer because of their bloat-software which you need to use for the computer to function properly. But the specs are better than average for the price and if it is not noisy (as many Acer's are) it's a good deal. Windows is only Basic, so no free Windows 7 upgrade, but this is over-rated anyway. You may as well stick with Vista and tweak it.

What bloatware do you HAVE to use for this or any Acer to work properly?

And not all Acer are noisy.......what are you on about man!!

how complex is it to tweak vista? wheres the best place for a guide to doing so? cheers

If you can't google search "tweak vista" it might not be a good plan to start tweaking
