This is a pretty good price, especially for the 14 nights. The best price for a flight is about £370 (We've just booked for November) at the moment, so that means you're paying about £200 extra for two week accom, and transfers.

Don't forget Quico with Netflights.

Just a word of warning, the transfer from Bkk to Cha-Am will take about 3 - 4 hours, but it'll be worth it when you get there!

EDIT: Just had a look at the reviews and it comes across pretty well, about 8.2/10 from TripAdvisor. Some mention it's a bit pricey for food/internet/etc, but you're never far from a cheap meal in Thailand!

The hotel in the photo's is the regent Cha-am. Its ok but was very dated when i was there 2 years ago. There is not much to do in the area other than a night market in nearby Hua-Hin and a go-kart track. If you want to do nothing other than sunbath this would suit you, but why travel 12 hours on a plane to do that? Also, in the hotel they tell you not to eat anywhere other than the hotel as everywhere else will poison you etc etc, but believe me , just a 5 min walk down the beach will reward you with some of the most delicious food in Thailand. Hope this helps someone, and feel free to pm me if you need any Thailand advice.

You'll be bored by the 3rd night believe me, go to Chaing Mai, Koh Samui or Phuket. Pattaya if you're chasing the red light.

It sounds good but it is not so hot really. As it is based on sharing a room, the accommodation costs are too high for the periods when you can go.

Also, Cha-Am is quiet. You can get inland for some adventure but as a tourist, you are not going to go driving about and tour options are limited. Beach is ok down there. You could go to Hua Hin just up the coast but there are no flight options from that part of Thailand so you cannot easily move around. The train runs ok but it is slow.

The accommodation is being charged out at about £20 a night which is about Bt1200 a night.

I wouldn't want 2 weeks in Cha-Am. I used to have a girlfriend from near there and have lived in Thailand for a long time and there are lots of other and better ideas but they require you to do some work yourself.

Hua Hin ans Cha Am have changed dramatically. Firstly let me address a couple of points;

Transfers - Now with the new Expressway should be 2-2 1/2 hours max.

Hua Hin has developed dramatically over the past few years with it's own red light are in the back Soi's (roads) of the Hilton. Places like the Hua Hin brewing Co are a magnet for the 6o somethings with the 20 something Thais.

Cham Am aslo developed somewhat. The photo's are of the regent which was taken over by Holiday Inn and I hear money invested. There is a great seafood restaurant (very very local) called Sang Wiang very close to the hotel (Soi Springfield) which is an absolute must if staying here.
