As pointed out in another thread, Tesco are currently selling Mull Of Kintyre Extra Mature Cheddar for £4.00 per kilo. This is in the little section next to the loose cheese counter where they have blocks of cheese wrapped in cling film.

The trouble with cheese (how do define it Mild, medium, strong OK then along all the other stuff mature extra mature, vintage they all indicate they been stored longer so presumably more flavour. I can't detect much difference between any of them) None of the STRONG cheeses seem strong to me.
I got the Pilgrims Choice Vintage Farmhouse Cheddar when it was on offer at £3.70 per kilo in the section next to the cheese counter in Tesco recently. This is matured for an average of 15 months and has a flavour level 6. I have to say that I thought this was noticeably stronger than other mature cheeses that are normally on offer.
