Halfords professional tools are excellent quality with a lifetime replacement warranty[1].
I have a set of these, albeit with swivel heads and they're one of my best tool purchases.

IMHO they're worth the investment at this price.

[1] Halford's ratchet spanners (AFAIK) are NOT covered by their lifetime replacement warranty, at least that's what I read instore a couple of years ago.

Halford's Professional range in my opinion are really good, they'll take daily professional use easily. They'll replace them there and then in stores if you break them as well. The prices have risen massively in recent years though - they are almost double what they were in 2004.

I have a set of these and have given them some abuse with no problems.
Assisted a mate with a few jobs on his car in my garage and he commented what a nice feel and action they had. He's now buying a set.
At the original price they were not worth it - but at this price they are just into the HOT bracket.

I've been using a smaller set of these, in a semi professional capacity, for over 5 years. Never had a problem and as someone else siad they feel good 'in the hand'. I would recommend them.

I Bought a halfords set of the "Advanced" a few weeks ago with the swivel head and ratchet. the box said they had lifetime guarantee the "Professional" set didnt though even theough they were same price.

And thats the point most people miss with halfrauds fake guarantee's. If these break (and its only possible for the ratchet mechanism to break in real-world usage) they will tell you to politely sod off.

and if the ratchet does break a bit of heavy handedness with a pipe on the open spanner end may get the piece replaced
