FOUND BY: stanley 2 months, 1 day ago

I found Kwik-Fit car insurance to be the best price out there for , by quite a bit, plus they give you a free MOT plus £42.50 Quidco cashback.

so far so good for me too. Not only the cheapest with the extra bonus of quidco and free mot- But i recently put a private plate on my car. When i rang up to notify them they issued me replacemnet documents at no charge.
I thought this was great as i am used to paying £30-£35 for any ammendments
xx

i had my car insurance with them about 2 years ago and it too 18 months to get the quidco. They usually have some cheap quotes though. Be carefull with the free MOT. I had my car looked over before the MOT and said it would pass and then took it for my FREE MOT and they found loads of 'problems' so might end up costing you mor ein the long run.

I too had the problem of my car failing on numerous matters at a kwik fit station when using the free mot voucher,I took it elsewhere and almost all of these faults had dissapeared leaving only the basic cheap ones ,bulb, wiper blade and a tyre which were all put right for much less than kwik fit quoted. There's no such thing as a free lunch or mot at kwik fit

That is exactly what I was going to post..........................please dont be tempted just by this free mot - as its certainly anything but free........u will end up with a massive 'repair bill'

I got the same deal last October, was happy with cheap quote and free MOT but Quidco was declined only last week after 11months! Good deal but don't count on the Quidco.

Why where you driving a car not fit for the road at all? A bulb being out, a wiper blade not working and a defective tyre are what you`d call a basic fault? That`s poor maintenance, plain and simple. When a bulb blows, replace it - otherwise the cars around you relying on your lights to tell them what you`re doing dont know what you`re doing. When your wiper blade stops working properly, replace it or you can`t see where you`re driving clearly. And for f*cks sake, replace a tyre BEFORE is goes bald - there are four small bits of rubber stopping your car from leaving the road to go through a hedge, a wall, or even a mother pushing a pram down the road.

Yes save a few quid, but not at the sake of driving a death trap.

I could not believe your post. You really are an*l about this aint ya? Barcabhoy made a very valid about how kwikfit rip you off and how bad they are at it and all you can do is blade him for taking his car to another MOT station, (which he is quite entitled to do) and geting a second opinion and proved his point. From what you say he should just have bit the bullet and paid whatever price they desided on.

Let me guess...something wrong with the shock absorbers, the tyres and the brakes need attention mate?

Only a fool would take a car for an MOT at Kwack Fit. Do you seriously want a clueless spotty 17 year old messing with your brakes and shocks when none of them needed replacing in the first place and paying way over the odds for it!!?!

Well said! I cant believe what he put either. That poster didnt say the wiper wasnt working it could just have needed replacing due to wear and tear!!! And as a female who doesnt know much about cars - I wouldnt know if my tyres are okay so regular take them into a garage for them to be checked................also sometimes we wont know a tail light etc isnt working until the mot.......

yes kwik fit was cheap for me too. did home and car with them.
only thing my car insurance quidco declined from april. plus - wouldnt bother taking my car into them.

i went to have a full service done on my car. its a 1999 honda accord. had the breaks discs and pads done, and it cost over £600. When I checked the receipt I had been charged £20 to replace two rear indicator bulbs - cos they were showing light thru the orange. This is on a car with orange lenses on the lights. I called head office and complained.. got a refund. You can get light bulbs dead cheap - and they dont cost a tenner each.
The staff all have to sell stuff, they must be on commission!
Its a hot deal tho, cos the insurance is cheap!
sorry for rambling - had to get it off my chest.
