e appearance of the 6600 slide with high-quality steel covers and aluminum center key constitute both understated elegance as well as visual simplicity. A crystal clear 2.2" QVGA display with 16 million colours also makes it easy to find your way around town, thanks to the integrated Nokia Maps application which can be enhanced with an optional Nokia Bluetooth GPS Module LD-4W.
The optional slim and pocketable Nokia Bluetooth GPS Module (available as a free accessory with selected tariffs) features an innovative design that takes Bluetooth GPS navigation beyond the car and into the hands of urban trekkers and leisure travelers.
And dont miss taking a picture with its 3.2 megapixel camera that takes high quality pictures and videos that can be shared with others via Internet services or multimedia message - directly from the photo menu.

I own this phone - I simply don't need all of the features of the Smart Phones.

It really is a great little device with only one small drawback - battery life isn't great.
I find I'm charging it up quite often.
Not a major problem if you are in the habbit of getting home and chucking it on charge in an evening.
But if you're used to only having to charge once a week then you'll find you're charging this unit more often.

My husband's got this - brilliant little phone if you just want a phone to use as a phone and not a ***** extension. We got ours a couple of months ago from mobiles.co.uk for £15 a month with free line rental for 16 mths on 18mth contract (if I send the bills in on time).

Great phone for blokes who keep it in a pocket as it's really slim.

This looks good. I had an N85 for 1 week and the build quality ultimately led me to get rid of it, despite the most gorgeous OLED screen I've seen on a phone. The casing around the screen and the buttons below was beginning to come off. The battery cover was also slightly loose and very thin plastic. The whole phone felt plastic-y. I didn't not expect such poor build quality from Nokia.

So my question is for anyone who owns the above phone, what is the build quality like? And what about the slide mechanism-- strong/sturdy?

very solid phone really, back cover is metal and holds on tightly, because of the kind of finish its easy to look dirty because of finger marks

hmm.. opposing views, as expected lol
Due to my experiences with the N85 above, I'm laying off any Nokias that have a mention of poor build quality.

Poor build quality, outdated OS (on smartphones), resistive touchscreen; Nokia is sinking!
