Most law schools do a book sale event where the 1st year's can buy books from the 2nd years, 2nd from 3rd etc during freshers week. Usually a good chance to get most of the textbooks for the year on the cheap.

i wouldnt heavily suggest selling your books until youve completed the course, im just going into my third year and i havent sold any of my textbooks as they often come in handy for referencing and further reading.
At the uni i attend you might find graduates selling books, but generally not 2nd or 3rd years.
Anyways good luck with the search OP.

I honestly never used any of my old textbooks - if your at a university with a modular course (which is pretty much all LLBs) then you'll do for example criminal law and move onto contract or tort or IP etc. The only linked subjects might be administrative and constituional, or land and equity, or IP and IT. It's very rare to need old textbooks, and the value depreciates very rapidly (especially if new editions are planned) - if you do need an older book just go to your law library, or use ebrary if your institution has provided it.
