Why is it, every time I go to the Pharmacy?

I have to encounter a line full of drug abusers in front of me waiting on their methadone prescriptions? I don't stay in a bad area of anything, but the Pharmacy is round the corner from one that's next to the Doctor's Surgery.

You have to wait in line behind them for ages as they go into the cubicle to get their hit. Meanwhile, they chat about all the bad things that have happened to X or Y scmbag that they know - 'cause they set fire to someone's door, or were battering their kid and got arrested.

The other thing that shocks me is that they've frequently got a small kid in tow. Why are active drug users allowed to look after vulnerable children like this? I understand they're 'getting treatment', but it's clear from the state of them, that they're out of their mind on something when they enter the place.

Does my head in...

You'll get people that use drugs everywhere...even if you live in a good area! I used to work in the offices beside a methadone project and instead of going outside I chose to use their smoke room...I was a young girl and amazed by the many different reasons these people started using...two came from private education and had the best things money can buy, some held down full time jobs...

Indeed, I just don't want to be breathing the same air as them if I can help it. Unfortunately I don't have that choice if I need to take my 7 month old baby in there to get medication.

There should be another way of giving them their legal heroin.

Why don't you get on the methadone program . It's free and obviously good fun for those you observed.

Hop on that gravy train quick, probably better than working yourself to death, paying through the A**e taxes and bills with little to show for it

The system makes it that it lets major drug users be able to keep their kids but if you have a unmarried couple who love each other and have a kid and at some point the mum dies the kid can quite easily be taken from the loving dad yet they let druggies keep their kids!

Yeah I agree its a stupid system though I hate the idea of taking kids from their parents unless necessary.
