FS/T Rules on Profiteering

Its free you didn't buy the laptop. You bought the phone contract. Simple.

I bought a DS off here this week, I fixed it, the fix hasn't cost me anything in parts but has cost me solder and my own time (Crap soldering iron). I can't sell it on for more its classed as profiteering.

You have the right to sell elsewhere just not here.

Some places don't mind profiteering or where you got it from. Ebay for one.

So that means we'll never see another mobile phone for sale then.

Might be an idea to point some out so you can help the mods out and clear up these profitering mongrels.

these rules are getting stupid. A lot of people get an upgrade phone then sell them on, or get a free games console.

good point, never thought of taht as they nearly all come free with contracts

This is the rule under which i have broken
(10) You must NOT list items for sale at higher than the recommended retail price. The marker of RRP will be determined by cross indexing with Amazon or other well known retailer. Profiteering is NOT permitted and this includes items previously found at a lower price in the 'Deals' or ANY forum here.
* Vouchers available as non transferable or with next to no resale value, such as 0.001p for example and generally available free items etc. must NOT be offered for sale or trade.

So any mobile phone received free on contract is allowed to be sold?

You should have just not said you got it for free, but yes it's a stupid rule.

I agree with Adam why not tell HDUK to stuff their FT/FS rules and sell somewhere else? because you'd probably have to pay?

It sounds harsh but Admin is doing members a favour by letting them sell on here..........people seem to think its a fundamental right.......

Collectables can also not be sold. That should be added to the rules, they closed mine down during the week.

probably because it hasnt been reported, mods dont read threads, the fs boards are monitored by members not mods

They bought the contract and paid for the phone in the contract.

Its the mods discretion at the end of the day. I personally have no problem with selling stuff at a profit if your using your brain.

But the rules are there if the mods think thats its wrong they will look. Anything classed as a freebie in there eyes is locked.

You have the right to report other threads if you are unclear.

I think the rules are getting tighter, but thats because there old and flawed. Given time I hope the admin staff will enlarge the rules and make them more fair and clear.

It's free to sell stuff on here..... can't see why people complain about the rules, as it's not like you've been left out of pocket if your thread gets locked.
