or of course...decent quality cables last longer...
Or people need to stop convincing themselves that cables degrade significantly when sat behind a tv not moving. Sorry but £10 is a waste when I can get a cable for £2. My HDMI cable is over 2 years old and working just fine after moving the TV between houses, removal of the PS3 its connected to out of the way and still plugs in fine. Oh and I paid £3 for mine.
Gold plating on a digital cable does nothing because so long as the connection is made it will still work. Unlike analogue signals. It is the usual misnomer that consumers will believe anything because of a perception about a particular feature works across all items using it. Gold plating works great for old analogue stereo systems but makes no difference to modern digital systems other than as a gimmic.
Like most of them
and you are concerned with constantly looking behind your TV why?
£10 isnt cheap for a HDMI....

and works better then any other HDMI cables i have.
Are we comparing HDMI to a scart lead
:
Dont get ripped off by paying £50 for a cable at comet or curries, also they wont look as half as nice as this.
Well thats probably true with DSG and co. But again if you are paying more than a few quid for a cable you are being ripped off. The only exception are gripper HDMI cables that hold well to connections made vertically into a HDMI.

The gold connection really does perform. If you wand to connect your PS3, this works a treat. The visuals of the games look great. This cable will give you true 1080P
In exactly the same way every other HDMI cable will do the same
