What do you mean by 'deactivated' ??
A bit looking up has came up with this:
:
The remote works, but has been de-activated by Logitech, meaning you can't register or program the unit through the Logitech Harmony Remote Software. Hopefully, someone can use the remote for parts or has the know-how to get it up and running again. The item is in great shape with no visbile wear or scratches.
The unit was deactivated by Logitech for what they considered a defective cradle. They issued a full new replacement and deactivated this item. It turns out the cradle issue is relatively common and has been corrected by placing a small piece of material under the contact.
Basically since it's faulty, the OP asked for a replacement - Logitech blacklists the old one - which won't be able to be updated, to programmed to control a different hardware. So unless you have exactly same TV/player as the OP, you wont be able to use it I think.
