I remember having a beko some years ago, it blew up

5KG wash load is small. The averave machine is 7,8,9 KG.

And the prices go up accordingly tho ideal for a single person

The largest is generally 9kg, it can't be largest and average!

My Beko washing machine doesn't have much to live up to, though, as both of my previous Bosch machines which cost 3 times as much were terrible. (The 1st one never even managed a full year.) My Beko fridge freezer has easily outlasted its Whirlpool predecessor and has never missed a beat. I've also got a cheap Beko LCD TV (£80 from Woolies) which has a better picture than either my Samsung or my LG.

Same price in Tesco to take away. Tesco is more expensive though if you have it delivered. This machine has excellent reviews.

Dirt cheap if you need a machine, maybe worth getting an extended warranty though (my experience of cheap machines is the last 2-3years and then cost £15 to fix).

One thing these Beko machines have in their favour is the ease of repairs.

They're not the best-built things in the world but I'd have one over an Indesit or Electrolux-based system any day of the week.

Parts are inexpensive and they don't use sealed bearings -- a VERY expensive source of trouble.

People don't realise this, then complain when their "quality" Hotpoint goes wrong with bearing problems or electronic gremlins.

The Beko can often be repaired by anyone with a couple of hours and a few tools. The Indesits in particular can be rendered scrap. Yes they wash better and might be slightly more reliable but I'll take simplicity myself.

Built for poorer countries you see (Turkish, and sell in huge numbers in Africa and western Asia). People in these nations still need their stuff to be fixable.

Cheaper not taking out the warranty then, that will cost more than £15

why buy an extended warranty ?? work out the cost over say 2 years ( about how long it will last ) and we may as well just buy 2 and stick one in the garage for when the inevitable happens...


we could of course just buy a decent product that will last and look after your clothes better and do less damage to the environment - manufacturing, packaging, delivery, recycling etc...

Why do we spend £1,000's on our clothes and then want to put them in the cheapest washer we can find ?

£1,000's on clothes?? Not in Barnsley we don't.. MATALAN, TESCO, ASDA, PRIMARK
