not compaible ,,, bridge requireed.

I paid this price 5 years ago and the dongle was blue and the marketing was called "SpeedBoost"... needa linksys router
is this a deal?

Item can be used as a standard USB wireless adaptor and it works very well - probably because of the external antenna rather than the less effective integrated type that is common in sub-minature devices.
If the manufacturer-specific features are required, then it would need to be used with a suitable hardware wireless source.

i think these are fully supported by backtrack also, and lots of mods to do for externa antennas, however the alfa networks awu36h is the way to go.........but much more expensive

It can be used with any wireless router but to get extra boost you needs to use it with a linksys router.

Do note however that this doesnt work with Windows 7 and is hard to get working - if at all - with Vista. I own it...
