EXPIRED - £1 flights back at Ryanair for travel October to December

£1.00

346°

FOUND BY: Trickyjabs 1 month, 2 weeks ago

EXPIRES: 08/10/2009

Ok, so we've been here before! The clever ones vote it hot, the stupid ones vote it cold!

NOT all flights are £1.
NOT all dates are £1.
BUT some are £1, if you're lucky you might get one.

Need to book by midnight 8th October.

I have posted the brilliant 'idiots booking guide' in post 1, with many thanks to Graybags.

A Full idiot's guide to booking with Ryanair and paying the minimum amount.
1. Only Book when they are advertising flights at a given full price, and only book these flights.
If your chosen flight comes up priced up full of taxes - it's not included in the deal - try another flight or time.
2. Get yourself a Visa Electron card / Post Office Travel Money Card / Entropay.
Co-op Bank / Halifax Bank bank and a few others do Visa Electron. Note that for the Post Office Travel Money Card and Entropay there is a fee for putting money onto it (so for best bargains get yourself an Visa Electron). My tip is to stick a couple of hundred quid (if you have spare) in the account / on the card, that way you don't have to load it up when a deal you're after comes along.
3. Do not take any "Hold Luggage"
You'll be surprised how much weight 10KG is. You can buy cheap suitcases that conform to Ryanair's size standard from a variety of places. Sports Direct (or whatever they're calling themselves this week) do one for about £8. In my experience, one of these jam-packed weighs around 9kg (unless you're taking lead weights for a diving holiday).
4. Check In Online for both legs of your journey before you go.
Print off the boarding pass (I print 2 in case the bar-code isn't read on one) and keep them safe.
5. Do not take out Ryanair's trave insurance.
When you get to the confirmation page, you click on the box that says "please select country of residence" and select "no travel insurance is required"
6. If you have an infant or push-chair then it's going to cost more. *may still be able to take infant / pushcahir for free according to subsequent posters (see later post)
This is just how Ryanair is, and they won't change it. It costs extra to take an infant, and to take a push-chair you have to check-in in person for which there is a charge (although the actual push-chair isn't charged as extra baggage)
7. If you don't want to pay silly money on the plane for a snack - eat beforehand, or take your own grub.
Often airport food is expensive. However, most flights are only 2 hours or so, so you should be able to manage from one meal to the next. You're adults - work it out.
Finally, if the cold voters can tell me where I can get a return flight round Europe, on a reliable airline that has outstanding punctuality for under a tenner, I'll vote this deal cold myself!!

hot from me-and regards part 6 of the idiots guide-I am flying ryanair tomorrow and confirm that pushchairs ARE free, and you dont need to check in in person at any extra cost-you just take them to the bag drop and they put them on the plane.

You certainly get what you pay for - rush for the seats, rude staff, dirty aircraft etc
Easyjet are far better and cheaper on a lot of routes!
(That was proved on Watchdog!)
That Michael o'leary was a smarmy git with pound signs in his eyes!

PS Just because you vote cold doesn't make you stupid - everyone is entitled to their point of view!

course you are entitled to your point of view m8-I have personally never had a problem with ryanair-the watchdog programme proved nothing as far as I can see-representative sample of what? 30 people? also they dont seem to understand that ryanair prices rise the closer to flight date so comparing prices for flights departing the following week was hardly fair-as watchdog knew fine well, but it suited their story to conveniently overlook that.

I have flown easyjet too and found them excellent -I am taking a family of 6 to paris tomorrow for 6 quid each way total-dont think you can get an easyjet deal like that anymore can you?

Like I said, each to their own-for the price I have paid I dont expect 5 star luxury-I just wanna get to paris cheap and ryanair will deliver that.

I don''t recall any comparisons to the quality of service onboard the plane between Ryanair and EasyJet. However, I do recall that they used just 3 routes, so how you can claim "cheaper on a lot of routes" I don't know - especially as they will refund the difference if you find a cheaper EasyJet flight...

The programme also didn't take their frequent £1/1p etc. sales, which are the times I imagine most users on here would use them (I know thats the only time I use them - show me a £1 EasyJet fare and I'll happily switch).

Did I say it was comparisons on service quality - NO, try reading it properly.
Don't like Ryanair, and YES I voted cold!

I am flying to Dublin in about 2 weeks with Ryanair for a massive 2p return. (not the first time either)

To be 100% honest, i don't care where i sit as long as i get a seat. The staff can fart, belch and scratch their ***** if they like and if their is a few sweet wrappers on the floor so be it, i'll keep my shoes on.

After all i am only on the plane for about 35/40 mins.

Or i could book through someone else, have an escort to my seat, receive hand shakes off the pilot and all his crew (maybe a few kisses from the girls) and then find the plane to be sparkling all over and plastic still on the seats. I don't think i would get this treatment for 2p though.

So i can either pay 2p with Ryaniar or £80 with British Airways (easyjet do not fly there).

Also just like to add, that in all the times i have used Ryanair i have not seen a rush for seats, any rude staff or any filthy planes.

since you voted cold perhaps you can link to a cheaper deal then?

hot or cold votes are not meant to be based on any other criteria.
