Have been looking for something like this for a while, seems to get decent reviews (see links below) and gives you near-Full HD quality (1440x1080 as opposed to 1920x1080).

A great pistol-style HD camcorder, the Camileo P30 offers a range of features in a great, simple package. It captures full 1080p HD video, and has a flip-out 2.5in LCD to view your video on, and a useful 5x optical zoom. The ergonomic design means less wrist-strain for normal shooting than other camcorder designs.

The versatile lens can go into a macro mode and focus as close as 10cm for amazing close-ups. Another great feature this camcorder has is electronic image stabilisation which reduces the effects of camera shake.

The HD video that this 164 gram camcorder captures is lovely. It has an HDMI plug so you can view your movies directly on an HDTV in full quality, as well as a USB port to connect to a computer.

It records to SD cards of up to 32GB, and records about 15min of video per gigabyte. So a 4GB card will record an hour, while a top of the line 32GB card will give you 8 hours. The battery will last for up to two hours between charges.

It can also take still images at a very decent 3200x2400 pixels.

With the included software, backing up your videos into separate folders, uploading to YouTube or burning to DVD is easy.
