EXPIRED - Warburtons Medium Sliced Bread 2 for £1.80 @ Co-op

£1.80

264°

FOUND BY: Cheap_n_Nicety 5 months, 2 weeks ago

STARTS: 07/10/2009   EXPIRES: 13/10/2009

Just has a leaflet through to say this offer is on from the 7-13 October.

This is IMHO the daddy of sliced loafs and usually sells for around £1.30 for one loaf. Until recently it hasn't been on offer, and this is better than ASDAs 2 for £2 offer that was on the other week.

Just to repeat, it doesn't start until tomorrow - the 7th

Most definately the best of the white sliced loaf. In tescos its usually stale - but this is one thing I make the effort of going to the co-op for. Always lovely & fresh from there

My wife thinks I'm nuts as I quite often give it a squeeze and leave it if it is a bit hard. So to speak!

Yes I have to admit to being a bread squeezer! I don't use any butter etc on bread so if it's not totally fresh it's too dry.

It's been 2 for £2 in our Co-op for a while now.

£1.80 is better though.

Whilst it is one of the better sliced breads, does anyone like me think it's not as good as it was a few years back?

You could have Warburtons in the bread bin for a week and still find it fresh, not anymore, 2 or 3 days and it's toast.

I like Warburtons bread and when I do buy it..it always has to be the Orange (Thick) or the Green (Extra Thick) packet....The Green extra thick is delicious as Prawn toast!
At the moment thou I have to say we are purchasing Hovis Square cut 800g thick loaves from any of our local Farmfoods because they are 2 For £1.50!! which is far better than Asda,Tesco who are 2 for £2 for the same bread. Farmfoods are also doing the Hovis Wholemeal loafs for the same price 2 for £1.50. It is always fresh and soft and we hae never had a problem with it.

It's crazy isn't it, that due to the price rises of foodover the last few years and the impact of higher energy prices people are looking for deals on bread?

A few years ago I hardly looked at the prices and only bought Warburtons, which I'd guess was about 70-80p a loaf!? I don't even think you really got any offers on bread. Now, like NahThenLad, I have to be looking for the cheapest and getting multibuy offers etc.

The even have offers on other staples such as milk now. Oh for the days of a 3p tin of beans.

.
I have to look all the time now for the best offers at differant shops to make the weekly shop up instead of being able to buy all the shopping in one perticuliar shop. Bread I've already mentioned from Farmfoods.....Washing up liquid (Easy Brand) from Farmfoods are £1.00 for 2 x 650ml bottles that are alot bigger than asdas 2 for £1 bottles. Breaded sliced Ham from Asda because you get a bulk family pack for £4.00.. O and dilute pop I found it's best to buy the big 3 litre Juicee bottles at £1.00! each ..9 scented Nikki Toilet rolls £2.00 @ Farmfoods..Thats £1 cheaper than the Velvet deal at the co-op or Asda..Shaving Gel 2 for £1.50 @ Tesco....Times are tough at the mo and I've found purchasing all your shopping in the same shop is not the way to save money....Use your vouchers & shop about.( Farmfoods Vouchers spend £25.00 get £2.50 off...Spend £50.00 get £5.00 off!!! ) thats a whole fiver back in the pocket!!
Got a very good deal other week from Tesco...They sent us a £5 voucher for £5.00 off a £50.00 minimum spend and a £3.50 clubcard voucher so we got £8.50 worth of shopping for nothing!!! Every little helps as they say lols
