This seems a good price to me for a non Dell brand laptop and for those who want a 17" screen, as my friend has a small 10.4" laptop and even though it's much more convient to carry around, it's dreadful when you try and use online capabilities or for trying to work on more than 1 document at a time with picture picture.

Here's the details on the deal but remember to go through Quidco to get your laptop at £561.45 including delivery.

Main Features:

AMD MK36 Turion MK36 2.0GHz Processor

17" WXGA+ high-brightness (200-nit) 1440 x 900 pixel resolution, supporting simultaneous multi-window viewing via Acer GridVista

A non dual core CPU may put some purchasers off but it's a good price for a 17 inch screen.

I'm looking for a great value notebook - one that is up to date and cracking value for money.

It will be used for Word Processing - internet wirelessly, watching DVD, occasional games but nothing taxing really and music etc, I'd like widescreen and prefer something up to date but a cracking recon or good deal would be welcomed. Doesn't need Vista necessarily or huge amount of software. The laptop on this page looked good.

Help would be really appreciated

Great stussy-daz thanks for the lead

Just one change from my original post now I've read your thread, gaming is not an issue so wouldn't want good deals excluded on that basis.

The 17" Acer would be good but the comet dealis far better

http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/p...=specification

I bought the Comet Acer last week and it is definitely fast and has a dedicated 512mb NVIDIA GS 7300 graphics card which is very good for graphics work, certainly worth the £649.99 .
