London to the South Coast by Rail (Return) - £2.50 with Megatrain

Just noticed this in a Travelzoo email...

Megatrain has just increased its services by almost double from London to Portsmouth and Southampton, so there are loads of return fares available for £2.50, including the 50p booking fee.

Tickets are available to book now for travel from 14 October until 14 November. Look for the £1 fares each way.

How to book: Click on the link and select your routes and 'Train' in the 'Travelling by' drop-down.

Megabus only offer trains that are on the SouthWest Trains franchise (for south of London journeys).

You need to use Southern, their tickets start from £3 if bought online and in advance, you must use that specific train though. Having a railcard brings additional discount.

Great looking train in the picture. Sadly South West Trains who run this deal don't own anything as flash as that. But still a great deal even if the train isn't sooper dooper!
