Do you have a link please?

Does that price include VAT?

Does it come with the wheel kit?

Are these the things that people use for power when they are doing building projects?
What do you do, Just add fuel?
Obviously I have never used one. But if its what I think it is then I know someone who may find this useful.

Yes, this provides electrical power (230V & 110v options) where mains supply is not available, or is otherwise cut off. It's a simple petrol engine that runs a generator - runs on unleaded. This one is capable of 2800w continuous output

The one that was mentioned at makro 5.5kva. What does that mean? Is it more powerful?
Are some more fuel efficient than others?
What other things are relevant?
Said I was unknowing in this area.........

It wasn't me who mentioned the 5.5kva one.
Without a link or more details, I can't be certain.
1 kVA is basically the same as 1kW, so on the surface of it, a 5.5kva model would provide twice the output of this model .
However is that peak output or continuous? I always specify them as continuous output. Who cares what they can output for a few seconds peak?

Also a 5.5kVA petrol generator for £150 would be an amazing price if its available - I'm surprised its not got a deal of it's own posted at that price and scorching hot too as they usually cost well in excess of £500

Typical prices for a generator of this capacity start at about £200 without the wheel kit. As these are extremely heavy, a wheel kit makes them so much easier to move.

Edit: Regarding efficiency, that will vary and will be primarily based on (a) the efficiency of the engine and (b) the efficiency of the generator to produce the electricity.
However, this isn't an efficient method of producing electricity anyway. It's all about making electricity available. Runtime (the time it will run on on filling) is the usual criteria.
If running economy is important, using a generator best matched to the required output will generally be most economic

Aldi's "specials" are not so special anymore.
Recent chainsaw "special" was £40 more expensive than the Netto one and inferior specced!!!

Angle grinder was another, was nearly double the price of the Netto one.

You should post a deal yourself based on that price - £172.50 inc VAT.

As I mentioned before, generators that size normally cost in excess of £500.

If you look on a well known auction site, you'll see the very cheapest (new) genny of that size is being offered at over £300 , people will be steaming in there and be pocketing an easy ton if they can get one.

The generators that Aldi sell are normally re branded Wolf generators..at least the much smaller 950watt ones are.
I wonder if this is also a Wolf rebrand?
Anybody bought one?
