If you want the reliability of Exposure but dont want to pay the £140 for the Joystick, then this torch looks like better value at almost half the cost and only 20 lumens less. Most other places selling for £90+

I'm only posting this because I'm turned off from the wonders of DX lights/torches, after both my MagicShine bike light and the Peoples Cree 150lumen torch failed on me (soldering) during a night lap at Dusk Till Dawn MTB race. Thankfully I had also borrowed an Exposure Joystick from a friend and that got me round the rest of the lap.

Build quality over great VFM, I have realized, is worth paying a bit more . At least I know the Exposure will be watertight and wont vibrate apart!

I appreciate that this light isn't for every commuter/MTBer, but thought it good value if you were looking for a quality brand in a crowded market. I tried the cheapskate approach and for it didn't work out :(

From what I've read you need to choose your CR123A recharageable batteries carefully due to their varying size.

Helmet mount also worth considering at a fairly steep £16 (but still the cheapest around)

Personally I think fenix torches are good enough for the job, LD20 for about £40.
180 lumen on max, 2 hrs run and uses rechargeable AAs. Quality is excellent.

any idea where to get some of these batteries cheap, i've gone for a two fish lock block mount and a 900 lumen torch for my set up, haven't bought lghts before and asked on here a couple of weeks ago which ones to go for, i'll see how i get on with this when it arrives

I'd recommend you try DealExtreme... but read up on your torch to find out whether it will accomodate these often longer rechargeables.
