99p cheaper at Laskys and possible 4.5% Topcashback - though I realise some may prefer Amazon

Bought this set from Currys 3 weeks ago for £199.97 (staff were bemused as it was on their website for £249!). At the time amazon had it for £229 (as I remember)

Anyway, it's a nice looking set and picture is very good - reviews have complained about the cheap buttons on top of the set but most people would use the remote anyway for channel, volume and on/off. Sound is good too, not as reviews have said.

Still available in store for £10 more than the Amazon offer but with the John Lewis price match the extra 4 years guarantee might swing it for you.......

Good deal price wise but I had to take the 19 inch LG that I had bought for my sons' room back to curry's last week as the sound was terrible on it and my eldest son is hard of hearing , just a word of warning . The picture on LG tv's are great but the sound levels leave a lot to be desired . Ended up getting a 22" Matsui television which was only £7 dearer and the sound quality is vastly supreior . Surprising since it's supposed to be such a good make . anyway heat and rep added for such a good find pricewise .

what is the sound like? as i had a samsung 22'' before and the sound was so bad i had to sell it within a month, it was just so thin and weak, no bass or roundness, obviously a problem on any small tv but i have read the LG isent too bad?

I found this on another thread not too sure if it works on this tv

You can activate your usb port to play music, photos and movies (mkv´s with 1080p working!) through the service menu. (LH 3000 - 7000, maybe 2000 too)
You can reach the service menu by pressing "OK" on your remote and "OK" on your TV. Password is "0000".
Once you entered the service menu, go to option 3 and change "divx movie playback via usb" to "HD". Change JPEG to "1".
Use the return key on your remote to leave the service menu.
Now you can use your USB port to play Videos, even 1080p mkv files

I'm sure it's a great deal and all but there's another LG television that is this price that is 1080P. Sound on that one is really bad though.
It wouldn't usually matter for a telly that small but If you're using it for the PS3, 720P looks really fuzzy on 1080P native games.

there are 2 ways

1. Wired method Connect your PC to the telly by the PC input socket on the telly and try to use it like a monitor. I would'nt be that great for text as the telly is not 1080p but should be fine for movies. This is the only method guaranteed to play all files ie if your pc can play it you can watch it

2. Wireless method

If you have a X box 360/ PS3 /wii with wi fi connectivity and a wi fi network in your house.

If so the best way is to use a software called tversity ( google it)

Install tversity on your main computer which is connected to your wi fi

Connect your x box 360 or PS3 or wii to your telly (ensure that the games console is also connected to the internet)

Start sharing on tversity. tversity will start streaming files from your computer all around your house through your wifi router .

you can navigate through the video files on your PC through your games console and your telly and play whichever file you like

Tversity will transcode the video files on your main computer into a format which your games console can understand . If you have a fairly decent spec PC this is fairly quick and takes only a short time to do so
