Watch Freeview Channels On Your IPHONE/ITOUCH with tvcatchup

Today is tvcatchups first birthday

So today they have released an application where you can now watch their streams on the iphone or itouch.

This is what is says on their forum;

TVCatchup is now compatible with the IPhone (or IPod Touch). To watch TVCatchup on your IPhone, simply go to:

http://iphone.tvcatchup.com

There are currently 12 channels available for testing purposes. The streams are optimsed to work on both 3G and WiFi, although it is suggested that you use WiFi.

Please remember an Uk Tv licence is needed for viweing however tvcatchup dont police this.

If anyone has any problems visit their forums, they will be happy to answer your questions they are such a nice bunch of people.

Also a word of advice with those using 3g make sure you dont go over your limits, even if you have unlimited! Best bet is to use wifi.

Forgive my ignorance but if I bought a new iphone firstly could i use my contract vodafone sim in it and also if i wanted to browse the internet / emails etc or indeed watch catch up tv , are these chargeable at all?

nice one OP....I'm watching the TV on my ipod touch at the mo via a WiFi connection and its pretty seamless streaming with excellent picture and sound quality

i just tried this on my daughters 2nd gen ipod touch but its not working, it take me to the right page but says she needs flash but when she clicks that it says something along the lines of you cannot install this on this ipod ? anyone any ideas ? ta

Truly awesome prog, rep+heat to the OP!
I have it playing on my 2nd gen ipod touch with a perfect audio and video stream.
Would be great for tv if you were wanna watch something in bed.
My only worry is it says beta, hope they dont charge for it soon.
Would be nice to have it launch as an ap on the ipod.
I take it as long as you have a tv licence it's all above board?

you are on the wrong page. The iphone page shows the word **Beta** in red. There is then a drop down channel menu.

well its a brilliant site, they have more channels if you view via the webplayer.
Dont worry mate i know for a fact they wont start to charge, they use the short adverts before the channel starts to cover costs.
All i can say is if anyone have any problems sign upto the forum and post it there, someone will to you in seconds :D

Thanks so much for posting this, I've been looking for a TV Catchup application on the app store on a regular basis.

TV Catchup rocks and it's worth pointing out the main site works very well on the PS3 too, so well in fact I've sacked off my ariel and use it as my main method of watching TV in the bedroom.

For anyone who hasn't used the service, the name's a little bit misleading as you don't watch pre-recorded programs but live TV channels, which in my opinion is even better.

been following these guys for a while, a great website, i can use it at work. there is also a plug to use on PLEX. Class piece of software, well done to those guys, should be easy to port onto other devices soon as well...
