Can someone tell me what advantage I get from increasing my hard drive space on the PS3?

Is it purely for songs or movies which I could just stream from my PC?

Thanks

Because most PS3 games install, an often large amount of data, to the hard drive; if you have a lot of games you'll soon run out of space. Downloaded demos, videos etc all eat up space too. Oblivion takes up around 5Gb alone.

Good price I might actually go for it and upgrade my PS3 as everyone says its not difficult but one quick question what do you do with the old drive? I've got a 60Gb and it would seem a waste

You can buy a cheap external USB hard disk enclosure and put it in there - you can either re-use it as a backup or just keep it aside in case you need to send back the PS3 for any hardware repairs.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

Thanks Scotty Boy, had a quick look on google, I didn't think they were that cheap! (around 3-5 quid)

Still cheap enough than the enclosures used to be - how much are you looking to spend on a 2.5" External USB SATA Enclosure?

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

I thought they were going to be more expensive than that for some reason and was pleasantly supprised!
