with all the vouchers off and NOT forgetting quidco and the £150 samsung voucher these become :

dixons £1189 ish
dell £998 ... so nearly £200 ish off

p.s. this is the exact same tv as the samsung series 7 '7000' except has a grey tinge instead of a ruby red tinge ... or so a salesman told me last week. Also its capable of mkv playback thru one of its 2 usb's. Allegedly can't handle mkv's with 7.1 surround tho. The input cab be either fat 32 or NTFS so you can play files that are greater than 4gb

just hope its not a dell misprice that they'll go back on ... i notice they sell the the 40'' version for more !

To be honest I think you are expecting OLED technology which is out there mainly in commercial applications but seriously expensive and not currently viable for the consumer market.

In my opinion LED backlit LCD screens are better than a standard lit LCD screens and are about the best bang for your cash without spending around 2K on a Pioneer Kuro plasma if you can still get one.

Price is good although I hadn't heard of Dell selling Tv's before, read up on AV forums to see what people on there think of them and advice on picture settings as the instore setups you see in big chain stores are often useless and not even HD.

Only issue is no option to purchase additional warranty - samsung only provide 1 year. Any idea if it's possible to purchase additional warranty somewhere?
